Nature
The Nepahwin Watershed is teeming with wildlife and diverse flora. Find the beauty in nature and capture in on camera.
Nurture
The health of our lake has taken a big hit in recent years. Invasive species (Eurasian Water-Milfoil) have spread at at alarming rate, water clarity and quality are in steep decline and blue-green algae is blooming.

Neighbours
We want to know how our neighbours (that's you!) take advantage of all Nepahwin and its surroundings have to offer.
Submit a photo of you, your friends or family enjoying our natural playground and let the world know why it's worth saving.

How it Works
1.
The Open Division is open to all ages. The Kids Division is open to students born in 2007 or later. No purchase is necessary, but participants are required to join our email distribution list. (See full contest rules)
2.
Participants may enter one submission per category by completing the form below. The contest will be open to submissions from May 1 to June 30, 2021 at 7:00 pm.

Photos must be taken between January 1, 2021 and April 30, 2021 from within the Nepahwin Lake Watershed. (view map)
4.
A panel of judges will review all eligible entries and select nine (9) Open Finalists and six (6) Kids Finalists based on criteria such as photo composition, originality and how well the image and its description reflect the selected contest category.
5.
The selected images will be shared on NLWSG's social feeds July 1 where they will be voted on by the public. Votes are submitted by commenting on the specific image and winners will be determined by a combined total from Facebook and Instagram. The voting period begins July 1 and ends Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:59pm.
6.
The Grand Prize, Category Winners and Runner Ups will be announced on this page, NLWSG's Facebook Page and Instagram on Friday, July 9, 2021.

Contest Rules
TERM AND ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER
1.1 The Nepahwin Lake Watershed Photography Contest (the Contest), brought to you by the Nepahwin Lake Watershed Stewardship Group (NLWSG) is offered online at www.nepahwinlake.ca/photocontest, www.facebook.com/nlwsg, www.instagram.com/nepahwinlake and is open to all Canadian residents.
1.2 Nine (9) finalists will be selected by a panel of judges on Date TBD. Entries become the property of NLWSG and will not be returned or acknowledged.
1.4 There is no cost to enter, but participants must agree to receive email communications from NLWSG.
1.5 This contest is void outside of Canada.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
2.1 Participants can submit only one photo into each of the following categories — Nature, Nurture and/or Neighbours —and provide a brief description of 250 words or less (describing subject matter or theme of photo, where & when was it taken, etc.). Digital photo requirements: a jpeg file with a resolution of not less than 300 dpi at a minimum size of 5 x 7 inches (1500 pixels x 2100 pixels, or greater). Jpeg file must not exceed 10MB. Photos not meeting these requirements may be excluded from the contest. Hard copies will not be accepted.
2.2 Submissions should not include copyright-protected material by third parties unless permission has been granted.
2.3 How to Enter:
2.3.1 NLWSG Website: Participants entering online at www.nepahwinlake.ca/photocontest may upload their photos until Date TBD.
2.4 Receipt of entries shall not be acknowledged.
JUDGING AND PRIZE AWARDING

On Date TBD), nine (9) finalist photos (three from each category) will be selected from among all entries received by an internal panel of judges. Judging will be based on criteria such as photo composition, originality and how well the submission reflects the selected contest category. Decisions of judges are final.

Selected images will be shared on NLWSG social feeds for a one week voting period; Dates TBD. A positive vote will only be considered if it is clearly indicated in the comment section of the specific image.

3.2 The prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. The prizes are guaranteed to be awarded. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and the decisions of NLWSG are final on all matters regarding this contest. The winners will be notified by email, shortly after they have been identified as finalist/winning entries. The winners must sign a declaration and claim form in order to claim their prize. If a prize is unclaimed the next eligible person will qualify to win it. The winners will receive their prize approximately 30 days from the date the claim form is returned to NLWSG.
CONDITIONS
By entering, the entrants warrant and represent the following with respect to their submission: (a) entrant is the sole and exclusive owner of the submission and its copyright; (b) photo was taken solely by the entrant; (c) the submission will not infringe on any rights of any third parties; and (d) any third parties appearing in the submission have given their consent to having their photo be entered into the contest.
By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless NLWSG, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and sponsors, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
By submitting an entry, entrants acknowledge and agree that all submissions may be reproduced and published (without notice or compensation) by NLWSG and/or its affiliates..
Submissions may be cut, reformatted, rearranged, combined with other materials and/or otherwise modified. Participation in the contest and acceptance of prize constitute the winner’s permission for NLWSG to use their names, photographs, biographical information, and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the contest without notice or additional compensation.
NLWSG reserves the right to refuse submissions deemed inappropriate or offensive in any way.
RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST
If for any reason NLWSG is not able to run the contest as planned, due to infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of NLWSG that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, NLWSG reserves the right to terminate or suspend the Contest. Furthermore, NLWSG can disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry or voting process.
